On 25 October, Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort and Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel held a private thank you party for their Indian wedding partners by the scenic River of Kings, on the Loy River Song Cruise. The event was attended by Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort’s GM, Michael Robinson; and Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel’s GM, Jose Luis Duran Sanles, and all agreed it was a beautiful tribute.

On November 19, the Thai Kannada Balaga celebrated the Festival of Lights with a grand Diwali celebration which featured dances, fun games, skits, lucky draws, and even some standup comedy. The event was hosted at the Rembrandt Hotel & Suites Bangkok, and all who attended had a fabulous time.

The Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI) Thailand Chapter held their second Diwali celebrations on 18 November in Rembrandt Hotel & Suites Bangkok. The event was graced by prominent personalities and received enthusiastic participation in large numbers by members and their families, all of whom enjoyed fun games, quizzes, and musical performances amidst a lively and joyful vibe.

Divine by Meeta hosted a Diwali Shopping celebration over 21-22 October at the Rembrandt Hotel & Suites Bangkok, which featured Indian treats and products from the Motherland. Guests had a great time shopping for the festive season, and 50 lucky winners won exciting prizes.

The Thai Sindhi Association (TSA) presented an event with Rocky’s and Rani’s Junior Diwali, for kids aged 4 to 16. Over 80 participants showcased their talents representing Bolly- mix Festive Fusion. The event also featured lucky draws along with a kid-friendly buffet and various activities, such as Diwali-themed art & craft, tattoo art, and stalls offering cotton candy and popcorn.

The Saurashtra Patel Samaj (SPS) group held their annual Raas Garba celebration on 28 October. The vibrant event was full of colourful lehengas, plenty of snapping and clapping, and infectious excitement. All members danced the night away in a beautiful celebration of their cultural roots.

The Malaysian-based herbal hair centre, Neeta’s Herbal, has recently launched its first-ever branch in Bangkok, with its soft launch on 15 October 2023, at Marché Thong Lor. Neeta’s Herbal brings its passion, expertise, and remedies for hair loss to Thailand, in hopes of effectively applying Ayurvedic treatment methods.

On 29 October, the Helping Hands charity organisation held a Diwali Fun Fair for visitors of all ages, at the Phowleng Association of Thailand (Chinese Hall Rama 3). Visitors enjoyed plenty of shopping, food, games, and a lucky draw every 30 minutes, and all proceeds went to charity.

Bumrungrad International Hospital, in collaboration with VitalLife and the ITCC, and supported by getfresh, held a ‘Lifestyle and Health’ event at the hospital on 3 October. The informative event featured panellists who were experts in their field, including Thai- Indian Dr. Narendar Malhotra, and was well-attended by members of the community, who were pleased to learn more about how to stay healthy.

On 21 October, community members celebrated Dandiya Nite 2023 at Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok. Guests danced the night away at the celebration, which featured a scrumptious vegetarian buffet, a lucky draw, dance performance awards, and music by DJ Dev.

On 23 September, buzzing Sukhumvit Soi 11 watering hole Finch once again held its monthly Bollywood night, this time featuring Krunal Thakur of The Voice India S2 fame. Once again, guests enjoyed delicious tipples, scrumptious bites, and songs that they could dance to all night long.

On 26 August, intriguing new entrant in Sukhumvit Soi 11’s gastronomic scene, Japanish, held its grand opening party. Guests enjoyed the restaurant’s Spanish-Japanese concept, and its perfect blend of contemporary Spain and upscale izakayas, with plenty of food, drinks, and infectious beats.

On 3 September, the Chirantana Dance Academy joined hands with the Indian associations TKB, TAT, and TTF to present a spellbinding dance performance at Rajamangala University of Technology, which left the audience in awe. Many dignitaries attended this event that celebrated the rice tapestry of South Indian dance and music, and honoured culture, unity, and the boundless potential artistic expression.

On 22-23 September, the Ganpati Bappa Morya, Ganesh Festival 2023 took place at the ITCC, during which 150 students of Thungmahamek School for the Deaf were supported with food supplies. Over 50 artists from the Hindusthan Arts & Music Society Kolkata and students from Rangsit University put together a grand cultural programme at the opening ceremony, which all the guests agreed was a vibrant celebration of the occasion.

NRI ONE hosted the Indian Property Investment Festival on 16 September, the biggest international marketing platform for the Indian real estate industry. Visitors were treated to a range of exciting real estate deals from some of India’s top cities.

On 30 August, the Shokeen Saheliyan Sukhumvit kitty group proudly celebrated the successful ‘soft landing’ of the Chandrayaan-3 on the moon’s South Pole. More than 60 ladies proudly joined to celebrate this historic event at Amari Watergate Bangkok, and H.E. Nagesh Singh, the Indian Ambassador to Thailand, was the guest of honour during the festivities.

On 19 August, diplomats from countries around the world came together in one global spirit for the first-ever ‘Ek Shaam Bharat Ke Naam’ event, which celebrated the triumphs and achievements of India. The event was held at Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, and was a fitting patriotic tribute to the Motherland.

On 18 June, the 9th International Day of Yoga was celebrated by the Embassy of India in Bangkok, with support from its partners, at the grounds of Chulalongkorn University. More than 4,000 yoga enthusiasts attended the event, including H. E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, the Indian Ambassador to Thailand, Professor Parichart Sthapitanonda, the Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, and other chief guests.

On 24 May, the Indian Women’s Club held a fundraiser at Movenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok, for the Neonatal Unit at the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health. The theme was ‘Saints and Sinners,’ and all attendants had a sinfully good time with plenty of great drinks, food, and company, all for a good cause.

VSK Presents organised yet another successful event – Bally Sagoo Live in Bangkok on 19 May, which was held at Flamenco Sky Bar Emquartier. The event was supported by our very own DJ Ash, one of Thailand’s favourite DJs; a young and talented Hip hop Punjabi rapper, Tricksingh; MC Klynton; and DJ Octo. It was sponsored by Golden Tulip Mandison, Punjab Grill, Singh Light and Sound, and Jatt Life.

On 29 April, Sonal Narula, founder of Kiyama Fashion Studio, welcomed the community inot her new fashion studio. The event was inaugurated by the President of the Indian Women’s Club, Geeta Rattan, and shoppers enjoyed a wide selection Indian, Western, and Indo-Western fashion pieces.

On 2 April, the Thailand Ladies Wing of the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) gathered participants to Chatuchak Park to partake in the JITO Ahimsa Run, a run for peace and non-violence. This was part of an initiative to set a Guinness World Record, with 90 cities and 23 countries. Runners completed a 3k, 6k, or 9k run.

On the 4th of March Rembrandt Hotel & Suites Bangkok held a colourful Holi Pool Party in honour of the festival. Everyone at the event enjoyed bopping along to desi beats courtesy of Dj Dev, while indulging in thier free flow drinks and tasty treats.

Guests gathered at Radisson Blu Plaza on the 12th of March to splash their afternoon away at their vibrant Holi Pool Party. The event was hosted by the Thai Sindhi Association with DJ Sagar on the decks, and it included a spread of delicious food that everyone enjoyed tucking into.

The 27th Thai Sikh Run 2003 saw over 1900 participants racing their way through 5, 10 and 21.1 kilometre tracks, with many from the Thai-Indian community and international community in attendance. The event was graced by the Bangkok governor, Chadchart Sittipunt as the chief guest of honour who also participated in the run. Food stalls put up by the Sikh community were enjoyed thoroughly by attendees after the run. Congratulations to Panatchakorn Wittayaprapharat and Takako Fukuda for acing the 10 Km track, and to Narongchai Sookthong and Nopchaya Handittagul for wining the 21.2 Km race.
